DOCUMENTARY
LOGINE: An inside look into the world of Youthreach and how they help teenagers find their own path into education and success.
This was my very first documentary that I made during my first year at Griffith College. I basically was given all the roles in this production.
My favourite roles when creating this documentary were directing and producing. As someone who always had a passion for directing and producing content for as long as I can remember and I was tremendously honoured to be able to use a lot of my creative input into how I wanted this story to be told and to have a warm light shine onto the amazing work that Youthreach do to help teenagers all over the country.
When interviewing the tutors, instructors, and students I felt a deep understanding and a sense of dedication and understanding into the work and commitment these people feel into how the want to help others maker sure everyone has there own path into education and/or success.
This documentary was definitely a challenge for someone who hasn’t made any type of professional film before. Production was by far my favourite stage while creating this film, as I got to connect with my fellow crew members and have a great perspective realisation into a typical day on in Youthreach and how it really is affecting the lives of teenagers who didn’t feel they connected with the “mainstream” education path.
I thought this documentary was a great starting point into my filmmaking journey. Even though I feel its clear that they’re some tweaks and cuts I would 100% adjust as a now more experienced filmmaker, I think for my first professional film this marks the expedition into an everlasting adventure as a producer and director.
