ASSIGNMENT COMPLETE FOR THE MODULE ‘CREATIVE STUDIO PRACTICES 1’

When I was in 1st year at Griffith College, required for one of our modules as to design and create a lamp that would reflect light in a creative and unique way.

My inspiration came from the galaxies. I felt that it was so much easier to focus on a theme that you either like or are passionate about. Thanks to a lot of supplies and dedication I was able to create a lamp that as you turn it on for a short period of time, stars and moons would be able to be seen throughout the whole, entire room.

The main things I used was a cardboard box, purple cardboard paper, a hot glue gun, stars and moon stencils I made myself, and a recycled lamp bundled up in a corner somewhere in the house. Tutorials from YouTube and other talented social media platforms gave me some inspiration on how to actually prepare and immerse myself into the craft.

The main takeaway I received when completing this assignment was the creative dedication and to view objects in a totally different and unique way. Our lecturers were really pleased on how well the lamp was put together and the logo, which was part of another assignment, was able to accommodate the lamp perfectly if at any stage this lamp was to be advertised in the near future.
